Confined Space Awareness Training for Non-Authorized Employees

This training course is designed for employees who work at sites where permit-required confined spaces are present, but they are NOT specifically trained and authorized to enter or assist in any permit-required confined space entry operations. The goal of this course is to make sure the student is aware of the presence of, and dangers associated with, permit-required confined spaces, and why it’s crucial that they do NOT enter them.

This course applies to non-authorized employees working in a broad range of industries such as, but not limited to, construction, manufacturing, warehousing, agriculture, transportation, demolition, government, and the many service industries where permit-required confined spaces may be present.

Topics covered include the definition of a confined space, focusing on those designated as permit-required confined spaces. It also provides a thorough set of examples of permit-spaces that may be present in their work environments. Finally, the course emphasizes very strongly, why unauthorized employees are not to enter any permit-required confined space, nor assist in entry operations.
Employers must supplement this course with any pertinent training/information for affected workers on site-specific procedures as necessary to comply with OSHA and other agency regulations.

Approximate Course Length – 15 minutes plus quiz time

Prerequisites – None

Language – English (student must be able to read and understand English to complete this course).

Testing – There is a final quiz comprised of five simple questions, either True/False or multiple choice. The student must answer all five quiz questions correctly to successfully complete the course. If a student does not pass the course quiz on the first attempt, they will have the opportunity to retake it a second time, and if necessary, a third time. If they fail the third attempt of the quiz, they are automatically presented with the opportunity to restart the course again (no charge) and then attempt the quiz again.

Training Certification – Once the student successfully completes the course and passes the course quiz, their personalized training certification will become available. They may download and print their training certificate at that time, or they (or their employer) can log back into their account, even from a different computer or device, to print the cert at a later time.
